Second Day: Filming continues

February 21 / 2024

Adding on to our footage from before, after establishing the desired shots into our main project, we went on to film the second piece of scenery on the road. However, the issue here is that both of us lacked the ability to drive, main factor being we don't have our permit. But either way, we decided to continue with the film taking because we could use limited shots. Instead of doing a full shot, we decided to split it into different scenes. First we took shots as Elaine walked toward her car with shopping bags she recruited from the food market. Then as she put her bags in her backseat and got in to drive. Last take for that scene was as she was backing up and heading out to the road. Next scene starts with a shot of Myra inside her car as she advances and follows Elaine slowly a bit back to hide her intentions. Then it cuts into her, (Elaine) driving around the neighborhood for a few seconds, with Myra behind her back, requiring just a few seconds for this shot. The final scene includes Elaine arriving to her house and parking her vehicle in the parking lot, as she gets out and unloads her bags as she heads into her house. However Myra has parked a little back near another person's house to simulate she lives around there. Myra takes a picture and notes down her address and remains there for a couple more hours. This finishes the take of the second part of our project. The main problems to being able to establish these shots was that we needed parental guidance and surveillance to watch us as we did our driving shots. And that we had to ask favors to be able to borrow two different cars to be the vehicles for the actors. We had to take time apart to teach a little driving maneuvers to my partner to be able to proceed with the filming. It took multiple shots to establish the shot of her driving out of the parking lot, and me as I did the final parking across her house. Though we struggled and took longer than expected, we managed to get together the necessary shots to finish this scene. We finished later, because we started filming late afternoon to get the dark gloomy outside mood. Then we added them on to the main project.
